The zabuton cushion is derived from an earlier type of cushion called a shitone, which was used by the aristocracy in ancient Japan. Today it is typically used with the Zafu cushion for Zen meditation exercises. Our zabuton is handmade with natural pure cotton filling and lining.
Measuring 70 x 70 cm and 10 cm high, this dark blue zabuton provides maximum comfort during meditation. It is particularly useful for long periods of meditation, as it prevents the formation of annoying pressure points that can distract the mind.
Properties of cotton: The cotton fibre is light, cool and breathable and is particularly appreciated for being hypoallergenic. The dense batting offers the right degree of stiffness for proper body support.
