The combination of tatami and futon make up an excellent Japanese bed. This way of sleeping is common in Japan, where it is common to roll up the futon during the day to use the area for other pruposes. The combo package for sale at a special price consists of 2 Tatamis placed next to each other to form a base for the Futon Cotton & Coconut Comfort 140x160 cm mattress. Our tatami mats and the pure cotton futon offer the perfect degree of hardness and support needed for a good nights sleep.
Width of tatami base: 160 cm
Width of futon: 140 cm
Length of tatami: 200 cm
Length of futon: 160 cm
Height of tatami: 5,5 cm
Height of futon: 14 cm
The high quality of the tatami is distinguishable by the double weave visible on the front as well as the back side. Thus the tatami has a thickness of 5,5 cm.
Futon Cotton & Coconut Comfort is an absolutely natural product. The batting of the mattress consists of 6 layers of carded cotton and an internal layer of breathable coconut fibre. This model is a mattress with firm lying comfort: the presence of several layers of cotton and the core layer of coconut fibre determine the firmness.
The batting of this mattress is symmetrical, this means that the degree of support and lying comfort does not change regardless of which side of the futon is facing upwards.
To ensure that you will enjoy your futon for a long time you should turn it over occasionally. This is especially important during the initial time of its use, so that due to the equal pressure on the cotton layers they keep their original form. To clean this futon we suggest to vacuum it from time to time. For more resistant stains it's possible to clean the futon with stain removers. It's best to avoid the use of water. Further we suggest to fold the futon periodically (i.e. at the change of season) and spread it outside or in an airy room allowing possible absorbed moisture to escape.
It's best to clean the tatami with a vacuum cleaner.
