The Haru Low Bed with Tatami stands out for its minimalistic design and its space saving 5,5 cm high frame. This environment friendly bed is made of solid beech wood and fits in every ambience. It is especially suitable for small rooms.
A milling that narrows the frame towards the bottom gives the bed an elegant and graceful effect. The mattress base consists of two tatamis that rest directly on the floor, without slats, as well as two wood frames which are mounted together with allen screws. Therefore the inner width of the bed is the same as the width of the two tatamis plus the width of the inner sides of the two frames.
To highlight the beautiful weave of the tatami, we recommend to choose a futon mattress that is smaller than the frame so that a few centimeters remain visible on each side. The Haru Low Double Bed with Tatami belongs in the category Japanese beds.
Inner width: 125,2 to 205,2 cm
Inner length: 200 cm
Thickness of wooden frame: 2,6 cm
Outer dimensions: 5,2 cm more than inner dimensions. Example: a platform bed with a 125,2 x 200 cm large tatami has total dimensions of 130,4 x 205,2 cm.
Height of platform bed: 5,5 cm
The Haru Low Double Bed with Tatami is available in different colors, which you will find in the above options. For more information see the page wood finishings.
Our high-quality tatami-mats stand out for their double weave present both on the front as well as the back side of the mats. Another quality characteristic is that they are quite heavyweight because of the tight weave of straw in the center. This guarantees the perfect consistency and firmness and ensures that the mat maintains its form over time.
Make sure the futon you place on it is a bit smaller than the mat so that the intricate and beautiful weave of the tatami remains visible on both sides of the mat.
The frame and the headboard of this bed must simply be screwed together.
Wipe treated wood with a damp sponge without solvents or cleaning agents. Untreated wood may instead be vacuumed or dusted.
If you choose to place a futon on your Haru Low Bed we suggest that you fold it periodically so that the mattress as well as the tatami mat can air out. We advise against the use of water and cleaning agents to clean the tatami. Instead we suggest the use of a vacuum cleaner or a steam cleaner for carpet care.
