Product characteristics

The japanese Origami bed is equipped with feet of a very particular form that represents the leading theme of the origami series. The external side of the foot is tilted towards the inside and the foot is positioned at 45 degree angle with the outer frame. This is a minimalist and light bed. The four wooden panels of the outer frame have pointed edges and they are screwed directly onto the feet. This massive and elegant bed belongs to the category of Arpel design beds

Measures

Internal measures: variable. This bed is available as a single, french, double and king size bed
External measures: 35 cm more than the selected internal measures. For example, if the internal measures for the mattress are 160x200 cm, the external measures will be 195x235
Height: variable
Bed frame panel width: 17,5 cm
Outer frame thickness: the outer frame has an L form profile with an internal thickness of 8 cm and an external thickness of 3 cm
Custom: This bed is customisable regarding the mattress size and feet height. Ask of a price quote
Wooden headboard: This bed can be accessorized with a tilted wooden headboard. The headboard occupies 5 cm of space in the inner frame of the bed. So as to maintain the requested inner length, we will make the bed 5 cm longer at no extra cost. This means that a bed with a headrest for a 200 cm long mattress will have an internal length of 205 cm and an external length of 240 cm. If these 5 cm create problems due to little space, we can modify the attachment of the headboard to place it on top of the bedframe without creating the external grooves. To request the modifed attachment of the headboard please contact us

Colour customization

This bed can have one-coloured or two-coloured finishings, see wood colours

Materials

Outer frame, feet, headboard: in solid laminated beechwood
Standard slats: 1,8 cm thick fir slats are included in the price
Other slats: In the accessories, you may choose between straight solid beechwood slats or curved ergonomic laminated beechwood slats with lumbar stiffness regulators

Tatami

This bed can come with japanese tatami. For an Origami bed with tatami ask for a price quote

Assembly

The outer frame of this bed does not belong to the category of metal free beds, this means it is assembled with a snap-fit system but it requires metal parts. The headboard is inserted through lateral grooves present on the side panels of the bed.

Care and maintenance

If treated, the wood may be cleaned using only a damp sponge without solvents or detergents. If natural, it may only be dusted or vacuum cleaned.

Accessories

To complete the bed, select a headrest or futon from the accessories. If you wish to sleep on a japanese mattress, find out more about our Futon, if you want a modern, ecological mattress, check out our Bio Memory mattresses.
