Versatile and ecologic, futon mattresses are especially appreciated for their natural batting and the firm support they offer which encourages a correct posture during sleep.

The batting of our Futon Wool, Double Latex & Coconut mattress consists of 6 layers of carded virgin wool, two internal layers of high density latex and one core layer of rubberized coconut fiber.

This futon offers a firm, well balanced lying comfort: the presence of several layers of virgin wool and two internal layers of latex adapt to the body shape for a soft, ergonomic feel under the body. This relieves stress from typical pressure points such as the shoulders and hips. The central layer of coconut fiber adds extra firmness that supports the spine correctly to ensure a correct posture and enable a deeper sleep.

Coconut is naturally highly breathable due to the thousands of micro spaces between the fibers which allow air to flow through, so this layer also guarantees a regular circulation of air through the mattress. This quality, combined with the natural ability of wool to absorb moisture from the body and dissipate it in the air, keeps the body warm and dry all through the night.

The batting of this mattress is perfectly symmetrical. This means that the resting comfort and degree of support don't change regardless of which side of the mattress is facing upwards.

Thanks to it's rich composition, this mattress is very stable and will keep it's form perfectly over time.

Colors and side handles

The futon cover is available in different colors, which you will find in the above selection. The hand made step-stitching and edge seams are the same color as the cover of the futon. We recommend to add the practical fabric side handles, so that the futon can be moved more easily. These are sewn to both sides of the futon.

Maintenance and care

Futons are quilted mattresses so it's not possible to remove the cover. Possible stains must therefore be cleaned with a dry stain remover. To protect the Futon from stains and dust, we recommend to add the removable cover which opens on three sides. You will find this in the accessories section. This washable cover is made of the same material as the futon cover and can be ordered in a different color.

Further we recommend to turn the futon over from time to time, so that the layers of wool maintain their density as they become slightly compressed due to the weight of body. The futon should also occasionally be rolled up and put to air out, so that the humidity which may have been absorbed over time can escape. It's best to repeat this operation at least two or three times a year.
