Zen plus bed with frontal drawer

Product characteristics

This version of the Zen Plus japanese bed has two bookcase modules on the sides and a drawer at the foot of the bed. The bookcase modules are fixed in place whereas the drawer can be pulled out and it runs on turning castors that rest directly on the floor.
The french size bed can be accessorized with the frontal drawer and only one bookcase module alond one side, if it must be placed against a wall. The single bed version is not available amongst the choices here, but it's possible to make it. Usually we don't add the frontal drawer in the single bed because it's too small. Measures

Internal measures: variable. The bed with all 3 modules is available as a french, double or king size bed.
Single bed: ask for a price quote. It will have one lateral drawer or bookcase module along one side
External measures: 7 cm more than the selected internal measures. For example: the external measures of a bed with internal measures for a 160x200 cm mattress will be 167x207
Bed height: variable, we reccommend not to go under 35 cm 
Drawer height: The frontal height of the drawers is about 11 cm less than the bed frame height, the internal height available for storage is about 16 cm less than the bed frame height. For example, in a bed that is 35 cm high, you can fill the drawers up to a height of 19 cm. If the bed is 40 or 45 cm high the available height of the drawer will respectively be  24 or 29 cm
Bookshelf height: A standard 35 cm high bed can contain books with a maximum height of 23 cm. The height can be enlarged by 5 cm at a time, this means it can progressively reach 40, 45 cm to contain books with a maximum height of 28, 33 cm
Bookcase depth: 20 cm
Length of the lateral drawer (single bed): if the bed is without a Zen headboard and for a 200 cm long mattress, the length of the drawers will be 155 cm and the available space inside the drawer is 147 cm. If the bed is with a Zen headboard and for a 200 cm long mattress then the drawers will be 5 cm longer. (read below)
Depth of the lateral drawers: Variable. It depends on the width of the bed. they can be 60 or 70 cm deep. Please specify what you prefer when ordering.
Custom: The mattress size, bed height bookcase depth are customizable. Ask for a price quote
Wooden headboard: This bed can be accessorized with a Zen model tilted headboard. the space taken up by the headboard in the bed is 5 cm. To mantain the selected internal measures we will therefore make the bed 5 cm longer at no extra cost. This means that a bed with a headboard selected for a mattress of 200 cm will have and internal length of 205 cm and an external length of 212 cm. As the headboard is slanted a bit outwards, it recommended to consider a total length of 218 cm.
External wooden headboard: it's possible to accessorize the bed with a tilted headboard that is attached to the head panel with Allen screws. The price is the same, just ask for this type of headboard when ordering. This headboard protrudes about 11 cm from the bedframe. Therefore, a bed with an internal length of 200 cm with this type of headboard will be 218 cm long.

Variants and accessories for the lateral drawers

Ask for a price quote if you wish to add a top cover to the drawer to protect from dust.
If you also want a dustproof frontal closure, the frontal parts can be requested with leather straps instead of the opening notches.

Materials

Bed frame, feet, modules and headboard: in solid laminated beechwood 
Standard slats: straight 1.8 cm thick firwood slats are included in the price
Other slats: it is possible to select straight solid beechwood slats or curved ergonomic multilayer slats with lumbar stiffness regulators from the accessories

Tatami

Assembly

This bed belongs to the category of beds which do not use metal parts in the assembly. The modules instead require the use of metal parts and they are attached to the bedframe before adding the slats. The headboard must be inserted through specific grooves that run down the side panels or it must be screwed externally on the head panel, depending on the selected model.

Care and maintenance

If treated, the wood may be cleaned using only a damp sponge without solvents or detergents. If natural, it may only be dusted or vacuum cleaned.
