Tatami sofa bed reflects the simple and minimalistic style of Japanese tradition with a modern twist. It consists of two high quality tatamis, two futons and four pure cotton cushions. You can choose to combine these pieces into a four seater sofa, a spacious corner sofa or a king-size double bed, according to whichever best suits your mood.
Tatami width: 70, 80, 90 or 100 cm
Tatami length: 200 cm
Tatami height: 5,5 cm
Futon width: 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 cm
Futon length: 200 cm
Futon height: the pure cotton futon is 13 cm high, the futon with a core layer of latex is 14 cm high.
Cushions: 50 x 50 x 10 cm
Height of four seater sofa: about 30 cm if one of the two tatamis is placed as a backrest; 35 cm if both tatamis are placed beneath the futons.
Depth: given by the width of the futons. Please keep in mind that the space actually used for sitting will be somewhat smaller than the total depth of the sofa because the backrest cushions will take up some space. Example: The smallest model with a futon width of 60 cm has a seating space of about 50 cm and therefore more suitable for children than for adults. The biggest model with a 100 cm wide futon has a seating space of about 90 cm.
The futons are available in many different colors which you will find in the above options. You can also choose two different colours for the futons to add a bit of spice to the sofa. The four cotton cushions will have the following colour scheme: two will be in the same colour as one futon and two will in the colour of the second futon.
Upon request we can also make all the cushions the same color or with a different colour than the futons. For personalised color combinations, please contact us.
If you would like to order additional cushions please visit this page: Cushions.
If you want a larger corner sofa, it is possible to combine two 90x200 cm tatamis with a third tatami and futon in size 90x90 cm to be placed in the corner of the composition. For the futon in size 90x90 cm, please ask for a quote.
Tatami: rice straw with an outer weave of rush straw. For more information visit this page: Tatami.
Futon: The futon cover is made with pure cotton fabric and for the batting zou can choose between the following options.
1) Eco Cotton Comfort - this plush batting is made with recycled cotton that reduces the the environmental impact of the product because no new raw materials are extracted from nature to produce it.
2) Eco Cotton and Foam - this batting perfectly combines sustainability with modern technology. It is made with recycled eco-cotton and a central layer of high density open-cell foam. This special foam is very breathable so it increases the circulation of air in the futons and it also maintains their form and softness over time.
3) Organic Cotton Comfort - this rich batting is made with pure organic cotton that comes from sustainable sources.
4) Organic Cotton and Latex - this batting is also 100% natural as it is made with pure organic cotton and core layer of natural latex foam. The latex foam gives extra support to the futon and helps it keep it's form and elasticity over time
Cushions: the cushions are made with pure cotton and the batting is made with the same type of cotton chosen for the futons. If you choose eco cotton for the futons also the pillows will have eco cotton batting and if you choose organic cotton for the futons also the cushions will have organic cotton batting.
Tatami: may be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. Possible stains can be removed with the help of a sponge or cloth dampened with a solution of water mixed with a bit of vinegar or citric acid.
Futon: we recommend to clean this product with a dry brush. For more resistant stains it's possible to clean the futon with stain removers. It's best to avoid the use of water.
You should also turn the futons around regularily to allow the batting air out and also to compress evenly. Further, we recommend to clean the futons with a vacuum cleaner from time to time.
