1) Zen Bed

The japanese Zen Bed has a minimalist design with a compact bed frame. This bed in eco-friendly beechwood is suitable for all types of rooms, especially small rooms with little space. The Zen bed belongs to the category of the Arpel japanese beds.

Measures

Internal measures for the mattress: variable. This bed is available in 160x200 cm or 180x200 cm
External measures: 7 cm larger than the internal width and 15 cm longer than the internal length. For example: A bed with internal measures for a 160x200 cm mattress will have the following external measures:167x215 
Bed height: in the options above you may choose between 25 cm, 30 cm and 35 cm. The bedside tables will come in the same height of the bed frame 

Customization of the feet and headboard shape

The Zen bed is available with 3 types of feet : square, round or with a 45° cut (see images in the gallery above). These 3 variants apply also to the headboard. We generally recommend a trapeze form for the headboard if you wish to soften the visual impact.

2) Zen Headboard

The Zen Headboard consists of a solid wooden panel that can have a straight, round or trapeze shape. It is inserted in lateral groove that run along the internal sides of the bed frame. The headboard is tilted backwards at a 10° angle.

Length: according to the chosen width for the bed, it will be 160 or 180 cm long
Height: 50 or 60 cm
Thickness: 19 mm

3) Futon

The Futon in Bio Cotton with Latex and Coconut is filled with 6 layers of carded cotton batting, one internal layer of latex and one of coconut fiber. This heavy weight mattress is therefore extremely comfortable thanks to the latex layer that welcomes the body with softness while the coconut fiber layer adds sturdiness, breathability and gives extra support to the body.

This mattress is defined as asymmetric, this means it offers different sensations of comfort according to the side you sleep on. The rich composition of this mattress makes it crush proof and long lasting in time.

- one 4 cm high layer of high density latex
- one 3 cm high layer natural coconut fiber

4) Zen Bedside Table

The Zen bedside table in solid lamellar beechwood distinguishes itself for its clean minimalist lines that perfectly match those of the japanese Zen Bed, creating a peaceful and harmonious environment in your bedroom. The spacious drawers allows you to easily organize the belongings you wish to keep at hand near your bed.

Top dimensions: 40 x 30 cm
Height: 25, 30 or 35 cm. This depends on the height chosen for the combo and it will be the same as the bed frame height.
Drawer height: 15 cm

Color options for the combo

From the options above its possible to choose between a wide array of colors. The color chosen applies to all the wooden parts, that means the bed frame, headboard and bedside tables. Assembly

Bed frame and headboard

The Zen Bed is completely metal free and is assembled with a lock snap system. The headboard must be inserted through lateral grooves that run down the inner sides of the bed frame.

Bedside tables

The bedside tables do not require assembly as they are shipped already mounted and ready to use. The body is glued together resulting in one single piece.

Care and maintenance

If treated, the structure of the bed frame, headboard and bedside tables may be cleaned with a damp cloth without solvents or detergents. If the wood is natural and not treated with any finish it may only be dusted or vacuum cleaned.

The futon mattress is quilted and therefore the cover is not removable. It may be cleaned with spot removers that do not involve the use of water. We advise to turn the futon over from time to time to encourage a regular and uniform compression of the cotton batting. Is is also recommendable to move and fold the mattress from time to time to let it air out and eliminate any absorbed humidity. This operation should be performed especially during season changes when the weather is more humid and variable.
