Product characteristics

The japanese Bookcase bed has an outer frame with an external support which serves as a bookshelf that goes all around the bed. The Bookcase bed can also be placed in the center of a room because the bookshelf is present also at the head of the bed. This bed belongs to the category of Arpel bookcase beds. If you dont want the bookshelf at the head of the bed for lack of space, you can choose the reduced bookcase bed that cannot contain books at the head of the bed.

Measures

Internal measures: variable. This bed is available as a single, french, double or king size bed.
Outer frame: 35 cm more than the internal measures. For example, a bed with internal measures for a mattress of 160x200 cm will have an external frame of 195x235 cm 
Height: variable
Bookshelf height: 35 cm. It can contain books with a maximum height of 25 cm. The height can be enlarged by 5 cm at a time, this means it can progressively reach 40, 45 cm to contain books with a maximum height of 30, 35 cm
Bookshelf depth: 15 cm
Custom: The mattress size and height of this bed can be customized. Ask for a price quote.
Wooden headboard: A Zen model tilted wooden headboard is available as accessory. The space taken up by headboard in the internal frame is 5 cm. For this accessory we will therefore make the bed frame 5 cm longer than the selected measures at no extra costs. This means that a bed with headboard and a standard 200 cm mattress will be built with an internal length of 205 cm and an external length of 240 cm. If these extra 5 cm create problems due to lack of space, we can modify the attachment of the headrest placing it completely on top of the head panel instead of creating external lateral grooves for the snap-fit system. Colour customization

This bed may be customized with one-coloured or two-coloured finishings. See wood colours

Materials

Bedframe, feet, headboard: in solid laminated beechwood
Standard slats: straight 1.8 cm thick firwood slats are included in the price
Other slats: you can alternatively select straight solid beechwood slats or laminated beechwood curved ergonomic slats with lumbar stiffness regulators

Tatami

This bed can contain a japanese tatami. For a bookcase bed with japanese tatami ask for a price quote

Assembly

This bed uses metal parts for the assembly. It is not one the beds with a lock-snap assembly system. The headboard must be inserted through lateral  grooves that run down the lateral bed frame panels.

Care and maintenance

If treated, the wood may be cleaned with a damp cloth without solvents or detergents. If natural, it may only be dusted or vacuum cleaned.
