This combo for sale at a special price consists of 2 Tatamis which are placed next to each other to form a base for the Futon Cotton Latex Comfort mattress. It´s available in several double bed sizes. The combination of tatami and futon make up an excellent Japanese bed. This way of sleeping is common in Japan where the homes are typically organised as open spaces that can serve for more functions. In fact the futon is usually rolled up during the day allowing the area to be used otherwise. Moreover the tatami and pure cotton futon offer the perfect degree of hardness and support needed for a good nights sleep.

Width of tatami base: 180 cm. The bedding surface includes two tatamis 90 cm each.

Height of futon: 14 cm
Choose a futon that is slightly smaller than the tatami base if you wish to allow the elegant weave to remain visible on both sides of the bed (as shown in the gallery). For example, choose a 140 cm wide futon to leave 20 cm of the tatami visible on both sides.

The high quality of the tatami is distinguishable by the double weaving visible on the front as well as the back side. Thus the tatami has a thickness of 5,5 cm.
Product features of the futon
Futon Cotton & Latex Comfort is an absolutely natural product. The batting consists of 3 layers pure carded cotton, followed by a 4 cm thick layer of latex and 3 more layers of carded cotton. The latex insertion offers the body a pleasant support and ensures a higher longevity of the futon. Also the sewn on mattress cover with a total height of 14 cm is made of pure cotton. To protect the outside of your futon you can order another removable cotton cover in Accessories.
Care and Maintenance
To preserve your futon ideally over time, you should turn it over occasionally. This is especially important during the initial time of its use to encourage an equal pressure on the cotton layers so that they mantain their original form. We suggest to vacuum the mattress from time to time to clean it thoroughly. For more resistant stains it's possible to clean the futon with stain removers. It's best to avoid the use of water. Further we suggest to fold the futon periodically (i.e. at the change of season) and position it outside or in an airy room allowing possible absorbed moisture to escape.
Its best to clean the tatami with a vacuum cleaner.
